PROGRAM DESIGN: RTS facilitates a variety of youth programs including after-school, summer camps, retreats, conferences, and summer employment opportunities reaching thousands of young people throughout NYC each year. RTS emphasizes the youth development practice of the Circle of Courage in all our programs; creating an environment of Belonging, where young people can build their Independence, find, and develop their Mastery skill, and practice Generosity in their communities. At the core of our programs are staff training strategies that enable our young professionals to develop extraordinarily meaningful relationships with the young people in their care who we call Our Future Leaders because that is what they all are.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Youth Mental Health Manager is central to Roads to Success's dedication to nurturing mental health and social-emotional learning (SEL) among young individuals. In this role, you'll manage the comprehensive integration, coordination, and supervision of SEL and mental health endeavors within middle school and community school frameworks. Guiding a team of MSW interns, you will team up with various stakeholders to ensure the highest standard of service delivery.

Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Forge and implement a strategic roadmap to integrate SEL and mental health supports within Roads to Success programs.
Develop strategies consistent with program objectives to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of participants.
Provide guidance to directors and community school social workers in developing, launching, and assessing multi-tiered SEL and mental health programs.
Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with best practices in program design and execution.
Engage with various stakeholders, including directors, social workers, educators, and community partners, to establish a consolidated approach to mental health and SEL support.
Organize regular meetings for feedback sharing, strategic synchronization, and progress overview.
Oversee a team of 15 MSW interns, focusing on their growth and ensuring they deliver outstanding mental health and SEL services.
Facilitate mentorship, provide guidance, and ensure opportunities for their professional development.
Design comprehensive training materials and manuals, equipping staff to adeptly handle SEL and mental health interventions.
Conduct training workshops and sessions, enhancing staff proficiency in delivering top-notch mental health support.
Launch detailed data collection methods to assess the effectiveness of SEL and mental health initiatives.
Analyze the data to identify trends, potential enhancements, and evidence-backed strategies.
Design swift response procedures for impending mental health crises and collaborate with concerned parties for efficient crisis resolution.
Educate staff on effective crisis management and mitigation techniques.
Initiate evaluation systems to measure the impact of SEL and mental health programs.
Use evaluation outcomes to refine strategies and elevate service quality.
Build strong ties with external organizations, medical experts, and community institutions to broaden the scope of resources and support.
Collaborate with the financial team to smartly allocate budgets, safeguarding the longevity of SEL and mental health initiatives.
Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting the direction, challenges, and accomplishments of SEL and mental health programs.
Champion the cause of youth mental health and SEL within Roads to Success and broader audiences.
Promote these programs, emphasizing their crucial role in positively molding the youth's future
Other duties as assigned by the Chief Program Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational & Professional Credentials:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Valid and active Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) Certification.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in youth mental health and SEL initiatives, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of youth mental health challenges and the intricacies of social-emotional learning.
Expertise in multi-tiered SEL and mental health program development, execution, and assessment.
Proficiency in designing and delivering training modules and workshops.
Knowledge of effective mental health crisis management techniques and protocols.
Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis, and program evaluation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analytics software.

Desirable Qualifications (but not mandatory):
Previous experience in educational or non-profit settings.
Additional certifications or trainings related to mental health, crisis intervention, or youth development.
Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel to different program locations for meetings, trainings, and assessments.
Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
